Tourism Trinidad continues to support the development of Destination Trinidad as the premier destination for Sport Tourism in the region.

During the upcoming Commonwealth Youth Games, the company will be working closely with key stakeholders to undertake activities that will elevate the destination’s brand and lead to an enhanced and positive visitor experience during the upcoming seventh edition of the youth games, which will be held in T&T between August 4 and 11, 2023.

In a statement, Tourism Trinidad said the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) aims to create sustainable and prosperous communities across the Commonwealth through sport, and Tourism Trinidad is determined to establish this country as a viable sports-tourism destination.

As such, the organisation has planned a range of activities that will provideunique tourism experiences for the athletes, sporting teams and spectators.

“Both athletes and visitors will be immersed in the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere of Trinidad from the moment they arrive, with airport welcome entertainment, ensuring a warm and enthusiastic reception for all participants.

“...the opening ceremony of the games will serve as a grand showcase of destination branding, further reinforcing Trinidad’s identity as a premier tourist destination.. This ceremony will be a captivating display of the country’s culture, heritage and vibrant spirit,” Tourism Trinidad added.

To provide visitors with valuable information and assistance, tourism information booths will be set up at various sporting facilities, including the National Aquatic Centre, Hasely Crawford Stadium and National Cycling Centre. These booths will serve as hubs of knowledge about this country’s destination, offering visitors an opportunity to discover the richness of Trinidad’s tourism offerings.

Locals and visitors can look forward to destination information kiosks at the game’s village hotels located at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad, Radisson, Cara Hotels, and Marriott.

Tourism Trinidad said these provisions will ensure that visitors especially have access to all the necessary information and resources to make the most of their stay in Trinidad.

On Saturday June 24, Tourism Trinidad also conducted hospitality training for Commonwealth Youth Games volunteers to provide exceptional customer service.

Approximately 2,000 volunteers are being mobilised for the games.
