Wilson returns to GML family

An­tho­ny Wil­son has re­turned to Guardian Me­dia Ltd.

Wil­son re­joined us yes­ter­day in the ca­pac­i­ty of Con­sul­tant Busi­ness Ed­i­tor.

Wil­son is an award-win­ning jour­nal­ist who has ex­ten­sive ex­pe­ri­ence in busi­ness and fi­nance re­port­ing. He was se­lect­ed as the 2000 Jour­nal­ist of the Year by the Me­dia As­so­ci­a­tion of Trinidad and To­ba­go (MATT), among oth­er awards and fel­low­ships.

Wil­son, who last func­tioned as the Head of the Mul­ti­me­dia Busi­ness Desk at One Caribbean Me­dia Ltd, be­gan his ca­reer in 1990 at the T&T Mir­ror and Prime 106FM and Ra­dio Trinidad (Trinidad Broad­cast­ing Com­pa­ny), be­fore ini­tial­ly join­ing Guardian Me­dia in 1993. He was last at GML in 2017, where he was the Busi­ness Ed­i­tor.

Com­ment­ing on Wil­son’s re­turn yes­ter­day, Man­ag­ing Ed­i­tor Kay­mar Jor­dan said, “We are tru­ly de­light­ed to wel­come An­tho­ny back in­to the GML fam­i­ly. His rep­u­ta­tion pre­cedes him as a com­pe­tent and very ex­pe­ri­enced busi­ness ed­i­tor and we ex­pect that un­der his lead­er­ship the Busi­ness Guardian will soar to new and greater heights in terms of sol­id busi­ness analy­sis and re­port­ing.”

Wil­son him­self is look­ing for­ward to re-es­tab­lish­ing his foot­ing at GML.

“Hav­ing pre­vi­ous­ly spent a to­tal of 23 years at Guardian Me­dia Ltd—1993 to 2001 and 2002 to 2017—I am elat­ed to re­turn to the com­pa­ny, which has played a cru­cial role in my de­vel­op­ment as a jour­nal­ist.

“I look for­ward to con­tribut­ing to the fur­ther de­vel­op­ment of the me­dia group, un­der the lead­er­ship of man­ag­ing ed­i­tor, Kay­mar Jor­dan, and my col­leagues, both new and old,” Wil­son said.
