Blink | bmobile wins big at the local advertising awards

Blink | bmo­bile's ad­ver­tise­ments took the li­on's share of awards at the 2016 Ad­ver­tis­ing Agen­cies As­so­ci­a­tion of T&T's (AAATT's) Cre­ative Ex­cel­lence Awards held on Sep­tem­ber 22, by plac­ing first in the ma­jor­i­ty of cat­e­gories judged in the telecom­mu­ni­ca­tions sec­tor.

Eval­u­at­ed by a pan­el of for­eign judges, blink | bmo­bile's ads col­lect­ed a to­tal of 13 wins at the much-cov­et­ed awards, which are held every two years and show­cas­es work from the lead­ing ad­ver­tis­ing agen­cies in T&T.

A re­lease said one of the biggest and most com­pet­i­tive cat­e­gories is telecom­mu­ni­ca­tions and blink | bmo­bile's ads beat oth­er com­pet­ing tele­coms brands by win­ning gold in al­most every cat­e­go­ry. In ad­di­tion, of the sev­er­al win­ning blink | bmo­bile ads, its Gi­raffe TV ad emerged as the most dom­i­nant by pick­ing up wins across dif­fer­ent cat­e­gories in the AAATT com­pe­ti­tion, in­clud­ing the over­all Best of Show TV and Cam­paign in Mul­ti­ple Me­dia awards, as well as in re­gion­al and in­ter­na­tion­al com­pe­ti­tions ear­li­er this year.

Not­ing that blink | bmo­bile has con­sis­tent­ly won nu­mer­ous awards at this pres­ti­gious event where the best of lo­cal ad­ver­tis­ing is judged and recog­nised, Camille Camp­bell, TSTT's CMO shared that they were very pleased with the re­sults which show that their ads res­onat­ed not on­ly with the judges, but with blink | bmo­bile's cus­tomers.

"This huge win of our ads for yet an­oth­er year, shows that blink | bmo­bile is a com­pa­ny that lis­tens to its cus­tomers and re­sponds to their feed­back." Camp­bell con­tin­ued, "The ads are a col­lab­o­ra­tion be­tween two lo­cal com­pa­nies which aim to con­sis­tent­ly ex­cel at what we do and re­main at the top of our com­pe­ti­tion. As the on­ly lo­cal full-ser­vice telecom­mu­ni­ca­tions ser­vice provider, we will con­tin­ue to de­light and serve our cus­tomers, while con­nect­ing with them at all lev­els."

Stress­ing that the win­ning ads were a team ef­fort, Mar­vin Imamshah, Chief Cre­ative Of­fi­cer at Mc­Cann Port-of-Spain, the ad­ver­tis­ing com­pa­ny which pro­duced the ads, was in high praise of blink | bmo­bile for its vi­sion to cre­ate ads which speak to its cus­tomers in mem­o­rable ways. "In a world with a lot of shout­ing and huge hard sell head­lines, it's great to show how a sim­ple every­day sto­ry can tru­ly cap­ture a brand's in­ner pas­sion of play­ing a mean­ing­ful role in the lives of cus­tomers.

Imamshah not­ed they were es­pe­cial­ly pleased with the per­for­mance of the Gi­raffe TV ad which was al­so en­tered in re­gion­al and in­ter­na­tion­al com­pe­ti­tions. "The blink | bmo­bile Gi­raffe ad was en­tered in the Caribbean Ad­ver­tis­ing AD­DY Awards ear­li­er this year, where it al­so won Best TV and Over­all Best of Show and the Flori­da fourth Dis­trict AD­DY Awards, where they gained Sil­ver and a spe­cial Mo­sa­ic award for the most di­ver­si­ty in pro­duc­tion and con­cept."

The Gi­raffe TV ad was de­vel­oped by the Mc­Cann team, Mar­vin Imamshah (di­rec­tor); Stephen Look Tong (Di­rec­tor, In­te­grat­ed Brand Com­mu­ni­ca­tions and Gabriel Fran­cis (As­so­ciate Cre­ative Di­rec­tor) and was shot by lo­cal film­mak­ers Ryan Khan and Oliv­er Milne.

Thank­ing blink | bmo­bile again for be­liev­ing that a lo­cal cre­ative team can pro­duce ads at in­ter­na­tion­al stan­dards, Imamshah re­marked, "TSTT tru­ly be­lieved in the po­ten­tial of this idea and we were lucky to work them, the great lo­cal pro­duc­tion team and the Em­per­or Val­ley Zoo to make this project a re­al­i­ty."
