There was one new COVID-19 death reported in Tobago last week—that of an unvaccinated person—with the island’s death toll from the disease now at 286, as at Saturday, October 15.
That’s according to latest weekly update, covering the period Sunday 9 to Saturday 15 October 2022, from the Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection, in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA).
Prior to Saturday last, there had been no new COVID-19-related deaths for two weeks, since Sunday 25 September 2022.
In addition, the THA Health Division report notes 8 more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Tobago, last week. The number of active infections, as at Saturday, October 15, was 47. This represents no change from the previous week (2-8 October 2022), at which time there were 47 active cases.
In terms of hospitalisations for COVID-19, the Health Division reports that five people are hospitalised, all of whom have not been vaccinated against the disease.
The Tobago COVID-19 update also reports that patients continue to survive the disease as seven people were certified as recovered from COVID-19 during the period October 9 to 15, 2022.
A total of 10,892 in Tobago have recovered from COVID-19 since March 2020—up from 10,885 the previous week.
