One new death from COVID-19 has been recorded in Tobago, moving the total number of deaths on the island to 245.
According to the Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection, in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), this is the first new death from the disease which has been recorded in over a week. Prior to Wednesday March 9, the last COVID-19 death was recorded on Tuesday 1st March 2022.
And 31 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Tobago, according to the Division’s update for Wednesday 9th March 2022. These new infections bring the number of current active infections on the island to 308.
Currently, 11 people are hospitalised with COVID-19, nine of whom have not been vaccinated at all against the disease, while two (2) people have been fully vaccinated.
The Division’s update also reports that at present, the total number of people in Tobago who have recovered from COVID-19 since March 2020, is now 6,890.
