Eleven (11) ad­di­tion­al per­sons have test­ed pos­i­tive for COVID-19, bring­ing the to­tal num­ber of ac­tive cas­es to 1,837 per­sons.

This has been con­firmed by the Min­istry of Health in its up­date for this morn­ing, Thurs­day 1 Oc­to­ber 2020.

The Min­istry as­sures that these 11 new pa­tients will be processed for ad­mis­sion at the dis­cre­tion of the CMOHs.

It al­so con­firms there have been no new deaths from the dis­ease, leav­ing the na­tion­al to­tal still at 76.

In oth­er high­lights from this morn­ing’s up­date:

●  More peo­ple con­tin­ue to re­cov­er from COVID-19, with ten (10) per­sons be­ing dis­charged from pub­lic health fa­cil­i­ties. 

●  There are 59 re­cov­ered com­mu­ni­ty cas­es, i.e. per­sons who were pre­vi­ous­ly COVID-19 pos­i­tive and in self-iso­la­tion at home and sub­se­quent­ly met the dis­charge cri­te­ria and were re­leased from self-iso­la­tion.

●  The num­ber of COVID-19 Pos­i­tive Pa­tients in Hos­pi­tal cur­rent­ly is 114.

●  The num­ber of COVID-19 Pos­i­tive Pa­tients in Step-down / Tran­si­tion Fa­cil­i­ties is ten—in fa­cil­i­ties in both UWI Debe and in To­ba­go.
