Eleven more people have tested COVID-19 positive in Tobago over the past 24 hours, but fortunately, no new deaths. That’s according to the update for Monday 14th February 2022, released by the Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection, in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA).
The most recent COVID-19 death recorded in Tobago was on Tuesday February 8th—an unvaccinated person—and the island’s death toll remains at 238.
Although there are 11 new positive COVID-19 cases, the number of people recovering from the disease is growing, as the current active positive cases stands at 340 persons, down from 365 on Sunday 13 February 2022.
At present, the total number of people in Tobago who have recovered from COVID-19 since March 2020, is now 6,292.
The Division’s update also reports that some 10 people currently are hospitalised with COVID-19. Of these, eight have not been vaccinated at all against the disease, while two persons have been fully vaccinated.
Vaccinations on the rise
On the vaccination front, as of 14 February 2022, the Division reports that some 4,803 people have received an additional dose of a booster shot of a COVID-19 vaccine.
In addition, the number of those who are fully vaccinated—either via a one-dose or two-dose vaccine regimen—has increased to 24,690, representing 46 per cent of the population eligible for vaccination.
Those still partially vaccinated—that is, persons who have received only one-dose of a two-dose regimen—now stand at 746 persons.
