A 42-year-old Belmont man became this country’s latest murder victim after he was gunned down while sitting in his car on Monday night.
Police said Michael Duncan, also known as “Donkey,” had parked his silver Nissan Almera in front of his home on Lucien Road, Belmont Valley Road, around 9:55 p.m. when he was shot multiple times.
A relative who was inside the house at the time heard the gunfire and, upon checking, found Duncan slumped in the driver’s seat with several gunshot wounds.
Another relative contacted the police. Officers from the Belmont CID responded along with a district medical officer, who pronounced Duncan dead at the scene.
Investigators recovered 15 spent 5.56 mm shells and two spent .40 calibre shells, along with two live rounds of ammunition.
Police from the Region I Homicide Bureau are continuing investigations.
