Two broth­ers were shot dead in Bel­mont yes­ter­day, in what po­lice be­lieve to be a hit.

The men have been iden­ti­fied as Ray­mond Weekes, 47 and his broth­er Andy Weekes.

The in­ci­dent oc­curred around 4.30 pm along Davis Street, off the Bel­mont Val­ley Road.

Po­lice re­ports state that the broth­ers were stand­ing along the road when they were ap­proached by two men, one of whom was dressed in cam­ou­flage.

Res­i­dents re­port­ed that the gun­men pulled out firearms fired sev­er­al shots at the two broth­ers be­fore run­ning off.

The men’s sis­ter, Ra­mona Weekes, told the me­dia that they had just re­turned home from work when the shoot­ing oc­curred.

Both men were con­struc­tion work­ers.

Po­lice of­fi­cers at­tached to the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions Re­gion I are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.

Mean­while, po­lice were called to the scene of a shoot­ing in Belle Vue, Long Cir­cu­lar, St James, late last night where two men were al­so shot.
