A Valencia man was shot dead yesterday morning by men who claimed they were police officers.

According to police, 48-year-old Devon “GT” Coxall of William Trace, St Albans, was at home when men knocked on his door and announced they were police around 12.50 am.

Coxall stepped outside to speak with the men who reportedly told him to “come this way” before opening fire.

The killers, who were all dressed in dark clothing, then got into a dark vehicle and drove off.

In an unrelated murder, a 26-year-old Diego Martin man was killed yesterday morning while liming near the neighbourhood parlour.

Police reported that Hakim Archille of Dillon Street, Diego Martin, was outside “Not Just a Mini Mart” along Factory Road around 12.48 am when gunshots rang out.

Police said Archille was with others playing cards when three gunmen approached and opened fire before fleeing.

While investigating the shooting, officers were informed that a 28-year-old woman, who was in the parlour, was shot in her right thigh. She was taken to the St James Health Facility, where she remained in a stable condition yesterday.–Jensen La Vende
