Two elderly males are the latest victims of COVID-19, with their deaths bringing the national death toll to 3,833 lives lost, according to the most recent report from the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry notes that both deceased persons had multiple comorbidities. Among the comorbidities from which they suffered are diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease.
In its update for today, Monday 2 May 2022, the Ministry of Health reports that 295 people have tested positive for COVID-19, based on samples taken between 29 April and 1 May 2022.
At this time, total active positive cases are 8,630. Some 189 persons currently are being treated in hospital for the disease.
As of today, some 148,630 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Trinidad and Tobago since pandemic tracking began in March 2020.
Currently, some 711,355 people in the country are fully vaccinated, having completed either a one-dose or two-doses regimen of a COVID-19 vaccine.
And some 150,958 people have received their booster doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, as of today, Saturday, the Ministry’s update reports.
