Two students of Queen’s Royal College, Port-of-Spain, were robbed of $60 in cash and a cell phone by a gunman while on their way to play a football match in St Clair on Friday.
The students, aged 14, of Curepe and San Juan, were reportedly walking along Serpentine Road, St Clair, in the vicinity of the tennis court around 2.45 pm when they were approached by a man.
The suspect, who was not masked, lifted his jersey and showed the boys a gun tucked in the waistband of his pants as he demanded, “Give me everything all yuh have like phone and money.”
The scared victims then handed over $60 in cash along with a Blu G5 cell phone valued $725. The suspect then walked off with the items.
The boys later reported the incident to their coach who contacted the police.
A search was carried out in the area for the suspect but no one fitting the description was held.
