Bur­glars made off with over $230,000 in cash and oth­er items from the home of a teacher in New Grant.

Po­lice said the 43-year-old woman left home around 7.25 am on Wednes­day.  She re­turned around  12.30 pm to find her home ran­sacked.

She dis­cov­ered $230,000 which was hid­den be­neath her mat­tress miss­ing.

Fur­ther checks re­vealed that her CCTV DVR, a $1,500 ti­ta­ni­um watch, an Ap­ple iPad val­ued at $6000 and a $7,500 PlaySta­tion 5 con­sole all miss­ing.

Po­lice be­lieve the ban­dits en­tered through a win­dow af­ter cut­ting the bur­glar-proof­ing.

Of­fi­cers from the Table­land Po­lice Sta­tion are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.
