Officers of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service seized and destroyed narcotics with an estimated street value of TT$2.3 million on Friday.
During the operation, which ran from 5:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., officers discovered a cannabis plantation comprising approximately 2,000 plants, including fully grown trees, along with 30 kilograms of cured cannabis.
The officers hiked approximately five kilometres into dense forest, where they located and destroyed:
-A drying house containing approximately 30 kilogrammes of cured cannabis.
-A cultivated field, spanning about two lots of land, with an estimated 2,000 fully grown cannabis plants.
Investigations remain ongoing.
