$2.3M cannabis plantation destroyed in Moruga

Of­fi­cers of the Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice seized and de­stroyed nar­cotics with an es­ti­mat­ed street val­ue of TT$2.3 mil­lion on Fri­day.

Dur­ing the op­er­a­tion, which ran from 5:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., of­fi­cers dis­cov­ered a cannabis plan­ta­tion com­pris­ing ap­prox­i­mate­ly 2,000 plants, in­clud­ing ful­ly grown trees, along with 30 kilo­grams of cured cannabis.

The of­fi­cers hiked ap­prox­i­mate­ly five kilo­me­tres in­to dense for­est, where they lo­cat­ed and de­stroyed:

-A dry­ing house con­tain­ing ap­prox­i­mate­ly 30 kilo­grammes of cured cannabis.

-A cul­ti­vat­ed field, span­ning about two lots of land, with an es­ti­mat­ed 2,000 ful­ly grown cannabis plants.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions re­main on­go­ing.
