25-year-old woman is latest COVID victim in Tobago

A 25-year-old woman with co­mor­bidi­ties is the lat­est COVID-19 vic­tim in To­ba­go, ac­cord­ing to the up­date for Thurs­day 6 Jan­u­ary 2022, re­leased by the Di­vi­sion of Health, Well­ness and So­cial Pro­tec­tion, in the To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly (THA).

Ac­cord­ing to the up­date, hers is the on­ly new death record­ed on the is­land over the past 24 hours, and brings the to­tal lives lost on the is­land to 216, since track­ing the pan­dem­ic’s im­pact be­gan in March 2020.

In terms of new pos­i­tive COVID-19 cas­es—some 32 new cas­es were record­ed, bring­ing the cur­rent num­ber of ac­tive pos­i­tive cas­es to 1,478.

The Di­vi­sion’s up­date al­so re­ports that some 1,436 peo­ple cur­rent­ly are in home iso­la­tion; with an­oth­er 35 peo­ple in state iso­la­tion; while four pa­tients are be­ing cared for in ICU; and an­oth­er three per­sons are re­cov­er­ing at a step-down fa­cil­i­ty.
