There are 29 new cas­es of COVID-19 in Trinidad and To­ba­go, even as more of those pre­vi­ous­ly in­fect­ed con­tin­ue to re­cov­er and sur­vive the dis­ease.

In its up­date for this morn­ing, Tues­day 22 Sep­tem­ber 2020, the Min­istry of Health re­ports that the na­tion­al to­tal for ac­tive cas­es at present is 2,038.

The Min­istry as­sures the 29 ad­di­tion­al per­sons who have test­ed pos­i­tive for COVID -19, will be processed for ad­mis­sion at the dis­cre­tion of their re­spec­tive Coun­ty Med­ical Of­fi­cers of Health (CMOHs).

Mean­while, more peo­ple con­tin­ue to re­cov­er from COVID-19, with six (6) per­sons be­ing dis­charged from pub­lic health fa­cil­i­ties.

In ad­di­tion, there have been 63 ad­di­tion­al re­cov­ered com­mu­ni­ty cas­es, ie. those per­sons who were pre­vi­ous­ly COVID-19 pos­i­tive and in self-iso­la­tion at home and sub­se­quent­ly met the dis­charge cri­te­ria and were re­leased from self-iso­la­tion.
