The se­mi-fi­nals for the Chut­ney So­ca Monarch on Fri­day night saw 29 en­ter­tain­ers vy­ing for a spot in the fi­nals and a chance to de­throne two-time reign­ing Chut­ney So­ca Monarch win­ner Im­ran “GI” Be­har­ry. He will de­fend his ti­tle on Car­ni­val Fri­day (Feb­ru­ary 17) at Skin­ner Park, San Fer­nan­do.

The show, or­gan­ised by Southex, was held at Scream­ers Night Club in Debe.

Many of the en­ter­tain­er's lyri­cal com­po­si­tions this year were feel-good songs that cen­tred around fam­i­ly and so­cial is­sues.

The of­fi­cial list for the fi­nals will be re­leased on Mon­day.
