Police arrested three men, minutes after they stole a quantity of chocolate and fruit snacks from a goods truck in St Joseph on Monday.
Police said officers of the St Joseph CID and the St Joseph Warrants Section received a report of a robbery where men stole from a truck at the corner of the Eastern Main Road and the Southern Main Road, Curepe.
The officers were told that the bandits were seen getting into a blue Hyundai Elantra.
Police issued an All Points Bulletin (APB) for the car and intercepted it on Wellington Street, St Joseph, shortly after.
Officers searched the vehicle and found two boxes of Caramel Chocolate and box of fruit snacks valued approximately $2,020.
Also found was a cordless DeWalt grinder, a screwdriver, a powerbank and a folding knife.
Officers questioned the men on the items, but said they failed to explain where it came from.
The three men, ages 28, 41 and 59 years old, were arrested and are expected to be questioned further. —Shane Superville
