Po­lice ar­rest­ed three men, min­utes af­ter they stole a quan­ti­ty of choco­late and fruit snacks from a goods truck in St Joseph on Mon­day.

Po­lice said of­fi­cers of the St Joseph CID and the St Joseph War­rants Sec­tion re­ceived a re­port of a rob­bery where men stole from a truck at the cor­ner of the East­ern Main Road and the South­ern Main Road, Curepe.

The of­fi­cers were told that the ban­dits were seen get­ting in­to a blue Hyundai Elantra.

Po­lice is­sued an All Points Bul­letin (APB) for the car and in­ter­cept­ed it on Welling­ton Street, St Joseph, short­ly af­ter.

Of­fi­cers searched the ve­hi­cle and found two box­es of Caramel Choco­late and box of fruit snacks val­ued ap­prox­i­mate­ly $2,020.

Al­so found was a cord­less De­Walt grinder, a screw­driv­er, a power­bank and a fold­ing knife.

Of­fi­cers ques­tioned the men on the items, but said they failed to ex­plain where it came from.

The three men, ages 28, 41 and 59 years old, were ar­rest­ed and are ex­pect­ed to be ques­tioned fur­ther. —Shane Su­perville
