Three more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Tobago over the past 24 hours. The number of current active infections now stands at 106.
That’s according to the latest update from the Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection, in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), dated Wednesday 29 June 2022.
In addition, the THA Health Division report notes that currently, nine people are hospitalised with COVID-19. Two of these patients have not been vaccinated at all against the disease, while the other seven patients have been fully vaccinated.
The report also shows that while people in Tobago continue to be infected with COVID-19, many previously infected people are recovering from the disease, as eight more people were certified as recovered from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.
At present, the total number of people in Tobago who have recovered from COVID-19 since March 2020 now stands at 9,651.
The Tobago COVID-19 update for 29 June 2022 also says that no new deaths from COVID-19 have been reported over the past 24 hours. The island’s death toll from the disease remains at 271 lives lost. The most recent death was reported on Tuesday 28 June 2022, with a fully vaccinated person identified as the deceased on that date.
