3 new cases, 9 hospitalised with COVID-19 in Tobago

Three more peo­ple have test­ed pos­i­tive for COVID-19 in To­ba­go over the past 24 hours. The num­ber of cur­rent ac­tive in­fec­tions now stands at 106.

That’s ac­cord­ing to the lat­est up­date from the Di­vi­sion of Health, Well­ness and So­cial Pro­tec­tion, in the To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly (THA), dat­ed Wednes­day 29 June 2022.

In ad­di­tion, the THA Health Di­vi­sion re­port notes that cur­rent­ly, nine peo­ple are hos­pi­talised with COVID-19.  Two of these pa­tients have not been vac­ci­nat­ed at all against the dis­ease, while the oth­er sev­en pa­tients have been ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed.

The re­port al­so shows that while peo­ple in To­ba­go con­tin­ue to be in­fect­ed with COVID-19, many pre­vi­ous­ly in­fect­ed peo­ple are re­cov­er­ing from the dis­ease, as eight more peo­ple were cer­ti­fied as re­cov­ered from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.

At present, the to­tal num­ber of peo­ple in To­ba­go who have re­cov­ered from COVID-19 since March 2020 now stands at 9,651.

The To­ba­go COVID-19 up­date for 29 June 2022 al­so says that no new deaths from COVID-19 have been re­port­ed over the past 24 hours. The is­land’s death toll from the dis­ease re­mains at 271 lives lost.  The most re­cent death was re­port­ed on Tues­day 28 June 2022, with a ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed per­son iden­ti­fied as the de­ceased on that date.
