A new Pre­ven­tive De­ten­tion Or­der has been is­sued against Elvis Ryan Lopez, al­so known as “Pig­gy” and “Pig,” who au­thor­i­ties have linked to an in­for­mal gang op­er­at­ing in Moru­ga, St Mary’s and sur­round­ing ar­eas.

The or­der al­leges that Lopez is an en­forcer for the group, which in­tel­li­gence has linked to firearms and am­mu­ni­tion traf­fick­ing, il­le­gal nar­cotics, armed home in­va­sions and shoot­ings. Lopez is al­so linked with boat op­er­a­tors and oth­ers in­volved in im­port­ing and dis­trib­ut­ing firearms, am­mu­ni­tion and il­le­gal nar­cotics.

In an­oth­er PDO, Shur­land Irvine, al­so known as “Bu­ju,” of Black Rock and Mt Pleas­ant, To­ba­go, was or­dered de­tained at the East­ern Cor­rec­tion­al Re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion Cen­tre in San­ta Rosa, Ari­ma.

The or­der iden­ti­fies Irvine as an ac­tive mem­ber of a gang op­er­at­ing in To­ba­go, with ac­cess to firearms and am­mu­ni­tion and in­volved in vi­o­lent armed rob­beries, break-ins, lar­ce­ny and wit­ness in­tim­i­da­tion. Irvine is al­leged to be an en­forcer for the gang. He was re­cent­ly charged in con­nec­tion with an ATM heist in To­ba­go, where one of the main sus­pects was dressed as Bat­man.

A sep­a­rate PDO iden­ti­fies Joshua Akim Pol­lard, al­so known as “Bun Up” and “Bun,” as a se­nior mem­ber of the ABG/8 Gang’s Mor­vant fac­tion.

The or­der de­scribes the fac­tion as an or­gan­ised crime group un­der the An­ti-Gang Act, 2021, with ac­cess to high-pow­ered firearms and am­mu­ni­tion.
Pol­lard is al­leged to be an en­forcer for the group and to have planned, with oth­ers, acts of in­tim­i­da­tion and re­tal­ia­to­ry vi­o­lence against ri­val gang mem­bers and wit­ness­es in pub­lic spaces us­ing high-pow­ered firearms.

Mean­while, Home­land Se­cu­ri­ty Min­is­ter Roger Alexan­der has re­voked the PDO against Pablo Manuel Guer­ra Ri­vas, of Diego Mar­tin.
The PDO, orig­i­nal­ly made on March 19, was re­voked on Ju­ly 31 un­der para­graph 9 of the Sched­ule to the Emer­gency Pow­ers Reg­u­la­tions, 2026, which al­lows the min­is­ter to re­voke a de­ten­tion or­der at any time. The re­vo­ca­tion did not pro­vide rea­sons for the move.
