There are 43 new COVID-19 cas­es in Trinidad and To­ba­go this morn­ing, says the Min­istry of Health in its lat­est up­date.

These new cas­es move the na­tion­al to­tal of ac­tive cas­es to 1,808 per­sons.

The Min­istry al­so re­ports there have been no new fa­tal cas­es of the dis­ease—the na­tion­al toll re­mains at 76.

In oth­er high­lights from the Min­istry’s up­date for to­day Fri­day 2 Oc­to­ber 2020:

● An­oth­er 12 per­sons have been dis­charged from pub­lic health fa­cil­i­ties. The na­tion­al to­tal is now up to 1,079.

● There are 88 re­cov­ered com­mu­ni­ty cas­es, i.e. per­sons who were pre­vi­ous­ly COVID-19 pos­i­tive and in self-iso­la­tion at home, and sub­se­quent­ly met the dis­charge cri­te­ria and were re­leased from self-iso­la­tion. The na­tion­al to­tal is now up to 1,650.

● The num­ber of COVID-19 pos­i­tive pa­tients cur­rent­ly in hos­pi­tal is 103.

● The num­ber of COVID-19 pos­i­tive pa­tients cur­rent­ly in step-down / tran­si­tion fa­cil­i­ties is 12—at UWI Debe and in To­ba­go.
