As of the af­ter­noon of Thurs­day, 27th Au­gust, 2020 the Min­istry re­ports the fol­low­ing:

Num­ber of sam­ples sub­mit­ted to the Caribbean Pub­lic Health Agency (CARPHA), the UWI and oth­er lo­cal sites for test­ing for COVID-19 22,576

Num­ber of sam­ples which have test­ed pos­i­tive at pub­lic and pri­vate fa­cil­i­ties in Trinidad and To­ba­go 1,476

To­tal num­ber of ac­tive cas­es 867

Num­ber of deaths 15

Num­ber of per­sons dis­charged 594

The forty-sev­en (47) pos­i­tive cas­es re­port­ed be­low show re­sults from sam­ples tak­en dur­ing the pe­ri­od Au­gust 19th to Au­gust 26th, 2020. There­fore, this fig­ure is NOT rep­re­sen­ta­tive of the pos­i­tive cas­es over the last 24 hours on­ly.

The Min­istry of Health pro­vides the fol­low­ing up­date:

· Forty-sev­en (47) ad­di­tion­al per­sons have test­ed pos­i­tive for COVID -19.

Of these 47 per­sons, 20 are na­tion­als and 27 are non-na­tion­als who are cur­rent­ly quar­an­tined at the Trinidad and To­ba­go De­fense Force (TTDF) site. These in­di­vid­u­als pose no risk of spread to the pop­u­la­tion of Trinidad and To­ba­go.

This brings the to­tal num­ber of non-na­tion­als test­ing pos­i­tive for COVID-19 dur­ing phase two to 44. No­tably, the oth­er 17 non-na­tion­als were pre­vi­ous­ly ad­mit­ted through the par­al­lel health care sys­tem.

All es­tab­lished pro­to­cols have been im­ple­ment­ed.
