Some 57 persons have been certified as recovered from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, while another 61 persons have tested positive for the disease, in Tobago.
That’s according to the latest update from the Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection, in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), dated Thursday 19 May 2022.
The latest recoveries mean that at present, the total number of people in Tobago who have recovered from COVID-19 since March 2020, now stands at 8,612.
However, the most recent infections have moved the number of active infections on the island currently to 518.
In addition, the THA Health Division report notes that no new deaths from the disease have been recorded over the past 24 hours.
The most recent death was reported a week ago, on Thursday 12 May 2022, with an unvaccinated person identified as the deceased on that date. As such, the island’s death toll from COVID-19 remains at 267.
The Tobago COVID-19 update for 19 May 2022 also says that 14 people currently are hospitalised with COVID-19, down from Wednesday’s total of 19.
Of the 14 patients currently hospitalised, seven have not been vaccinated at all against the disease, while the other seven patients have been fully vaccinated.
