The Min­istry of Health has re­vealed that 14 ad­di­tion­al peo­ple have suc­cumbed to COVID-19, mak­ing it 71 fa­tal­i­ties record­ed for the week to date.

The min­istry al­so con­firmed 140 new in­fec­tions from sam­ples col­lect­ed be­tween No­vem­ber 1st and 4th. This makes 1,460 cas­es to be con­firmed for the week to date.

Deaths now stand at 1,753—the ma­jor­i­ty of which the Min­istry of Health has pre­vi­ous­ly said were not ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed (up­wards of 95 per cent).

In its up­date for to­day, Fri­day 5th No­vem­ber 2021, the Min­istry notes there are now 5,185 ac­tive cas­es of COVID-19 in the coun­try, at this time.

In ad­di­tion, the health min­istry re­ports that 93.1% of peo­ple in the cur­rent par­al­lel health­care sys­tem are not ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed—some 4,809 from a to­tal of 5,166—based on da­ta from Ju­ly 22nd to Oc­to­ber 20th, 2021.

Cur­rent­ly, some 610,852 peo­ple in the coun­try are ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed, hav­ing com­plet­ed ei­ther a one-dose or two-dose regime.

And some 625,832 peo­ple have re­ceived their first dos­es of a COVID-19 vac­cine, as of to­day, Fri­day, the Min­istry’s up­date re­ports.

The Min­istry re­minds the pub­lic that a per­son is con­sid­ered to be ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed two weeks af­ter re­ceiv­ing the fi­nal rec­om­mend­ed vac­cine dose(s) of a World Health Or­gan­i­sa­tion (WHO) ap­proved vac­cine or vac­cine com­bi­na­tion.

The Health Min­istry al­so notes in its up­date:

● 337 per­sons are still hos­pi­talised for COVID-19; up from 310 pa­tients on Thurs­day.

● 4,687 per­sons are in home self-iso­la­tion; up from 4,558 pa­tients on Thurs­day.

● 80 per­sons are in State quar­an­tine fa­cil­i­ties; up from 78 pa­tients on Thurs­day.

● 21 pa­tients are still re­cov­er­ing in step-down fa­cil­i­ties; down from 23 pa­tients on Thurs­day.
