8 more deaths, 345 new COVID-19 cases

Eight more peo­ple have lost their lives to COVID-19, while an­oth­er 345 peo­ple have test­ed pos­i­tive for the dis­ease, ac­cord­ing to the lat­est up­date from the Min­istry of Health.

In its up­date for to­day, Sun­day 14 No­vem­ber 2021, the Min­istry notes that these lat­est deaths have pushed up the na­tion­al death toll to 1,858 lives lost.

In ad­di­tion, the 345 new pos­i­tive cas­es, based on sam­ples tak­en be­tween No­vem­ber 10th and 13th, mean that there are now 6,831 ac­tive cas­es of COVID-19 in the coun­try, at this time.

Many peo­ple who al­ready are vac­ci­nat­ed against the dis­ease have be­gun tak­ing their third shot or vac­cine boost­er, with some 3,559 per­sons re­ceiv­ing an ad­di­tion­al pri­ma­ry dose by this af­ter­noon.

Cur­rent­ly, some 627,187 peo­ple in the coun­try are ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed, hav­ing com­plet­ed a vac­cine reg­i­men com­pris­ing ei­ther two dos­es or a sin­gle dose. 

And some 632,313 peo­ple have re­ceived their first dos­es of a COVID-19 vac­cine, as of to­day, Sun­day, the Min­istry’s up­date re­ports.

The Min­istry re­minds the pub­lic that a per­son is con­sid­ered to be ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed two weeks af­ter re­ceiv­ing the fi­nal rec­om­mend­ed vac­cine dose(s) of a World Health Or­gan­i­sa­tion (WHO) ap­proved vac­cine or vac­cine com­bi­na­tion.

Mean­while, 92.3% (5,033 of 5,453) is the per­cent­age of pa­tients in the par­al­lel health­care sys­tem who are NOT ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed, based on da­ta col­lat­ed be­tween Ju­ly 22nd and Oc­to­ber 27th, 2021.
