This coun­try has lost an­oth­er eight lives to COVID-19, ac­cord­ing to the lat­est up­date from the Min­istry of Health is­sued to­day, Mon­day 2nd Au­gust 2021.

The Min­istry al­so notes that these lat­est deaths have pushed up the na­tion­al death toll to 1,092 lives lost.

And an­oth­er 109 peo­ple have test­ed pos­i­tive for the dis­ease, based on sam­ples tak­en be­tween Ju­ly 29th and Au­gust 1st, 2021.  The Min­istry al­so con­firms that there are 5,818 ac­tive cas­es of COVID-19 in the coun­try.

Mean­while, the na­tion­al vac­ci­na­tion dri­ve con­tin­ues apace, as cur­rent­ly, some 195,086 peo­ple in the coun­try are ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed, hav­ing re­ceived two dos­es of a COVID-19 vac­cine—ei­ther Sinopharm or As­traZeneca—inch­ing clos­er to the 200,000 mark.

In ad­di­tion, some 395,743 peo­ple have re­ceived their first dos­es of a COVID-19 vac­cine, as of Sun­day, the Min­istry’s up­date re­ports.

The Health Min­istry al­so notes in its up­date:

● 314 per­sons are still hos­pi­talised for COVID-19; no change from Sun­day.

● 5,306 per­sons are in home self-iso­la­tion; down from 5,390 pa­tients on Sun­day.

● 165 per­sons are in State quar­an­tine fa­cil­i­ties; down from 172 pa­tients on Sun­day.

● 89 pa­tients are now re­cov­er­ing in step/down fa­cil­i­ties; up from 82 pa­tients on Sun­day.
