This country has lost another eight lives to COVID-19, according to the latest update from the Ministry of Health issued today, Monday 2nd August 2021.
The Ministry also notes that these latest deaths have pushed up the national death toll to 1,092 lives lost.
And another 109 people have tested positive for the disease, based on samples taken between July 29th and August 1st, 2021. The Ministry also confirms that there are 5,818 active cases of COVID-19 in the country.
Meanwhile, the national vaccination drive continues apace, as currently, some 195,086 people in the country are fully vaccinated, having received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine—either Sinopharm or AstraZeneca—inching closer to the 200,000 mark.
In addition, some 395,743 people have received their first doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, as of Sunday, the Ministry’s update reports.
The Health Ministry also notes in its update:
● 314 persons are still hospitalised for COVID-19; no change from Sunday.
● 5,306 persons are in home self-isolation; down from 5,390 patients on Sunday.
● 165 persons are in State quarantine facilities; down from 172 patients on Sunday.
● 89 patients are now recovering in step/down facilities; up from 82 patients on Sunday.
