There are eight (8) new positive COVID-19 cases in Tobago over the past 24 hours, but fortunately, no new deaths. These latest cases have moved the number of active positive cases to 365.
In addition, the most recent COVID-19 death recorded in Tobago was on Tuesday February 8th—an unvaccinated person—and the island’s death toll remains at 238.
That’s according to the latest update released by the Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection, in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), for Sunday 13th February 2022.
The Division’s update also reports that some 10 people currently are hospitalised with COVID-19. Of these, eight have not been vaccinated at all against the disease, while two persons have been fully vaccinated.
The update also notes that more people in Tobago are recovering from COVID-19, with the total recovered now up to 6,286.
Vaccinations on the rise
On the vaccination front, as of 14 February 2022, the Division reports that some 4,803 people have received an additional dose of a booster shot of a COVID-19 vaccine.
In addition, the number of those who are fully vaccinated—either via a one-dose or two-dose vaccine regimen—has increased to 24,690, representing 46 per cent of the population eligible for vaccination.
Those still partially vaccinated—that is, persons who have received only one-dose of a two-dose regimen—now stand at 746 persons.
