There are eight (8) new pos­i­tive COVID-19 cas­es in To­ba­go over the past 24 hours, but for­tu­nate­ly, no new deaths. These lat­est cas­es have moved the num­ber of ac­tive pos­i­tive cas­es to 365.

In ad­di­tion, the most re­cent COVID-19 death record­ed in To­ba­go was on Tues­day Feb­ru­ary 8th—an un­vac­ci­nat­ed per­son—and the is­land’s death toll re­mains at 238.

That’s ac­cord­ing to the lat­est up­date re­leased by the Di­vi­sion of Health, Well­ness and So­cial Pro­tec­tion, in the To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly (THA), for Sun­day 13th Feb­ru­ary 2022.

The Di­vi­sion’s up­date al­so re­ports that some 10 peo­ple cur­rent­ly are hos­pi­talised with COVID-19. Of these, eight have not been vac­ci­nat­ed at all against the dis­ease, while two per­sons have been ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed.

The up­date al­so notes that more peo­ple in To­ba­go are re­cov­er­ing from COVID-19, with the to­tal re­cov­ered now up to 6,286.

Vac­ci­na­tions on the rise

On the vac­ci­na­tion front, as of 14 Feb­ru­ary 2022, the Di­vi­sion re­ports that some 4,803 peo­ple have re­ceived an ad­di­tion­al dose of a boost­er shot of a COVID-19 vac­cine.

In ad­di­tion, the num­ber of those who are ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed—ei­ther via a one-dose or two-dose vac­cine reg­i­men—has in­creased to 24,690, rep­re­sent­ing 46 per cent of the pop­u­la­tion el­i­gi­ble for vac­ci­na­tion.

Those still par­tial­ly vac­ci­nat­ed—that is, per­sons who have re­ceived on­ly one-dose of a two-dose reg­i­men—now stand at 746 per­sons.
