The Yel­low Lev­el Ad­verse Weath­er Alert has now been up­dat­ed to in­clude To­ba­go and is ex­pect­ed to re­main in ef­fect un­til 4:00 pm on No­vem­ber 27.

In a state­ment, the Trinidad and To­ba­go Me­te­o­ro­log­i­cal Ser­vice (TTMS) said, "The ma­jor­i­ty of the ac­tiv­i­ty thus far has im­pact­ed main­ly north Trinidad how­ev­er, this ac­tiv­i­ty is al­so ex­pect­ed to ex­tend in­to To­ba­go.:

The TTMS added that an ap­proach­ing trough con­tin­ues to pro­duce pe­ri­ods of light to mod­er­ate show­ers and ar­eas of heav­ier show­ers and thun­der­storms in­ter­mit­tent­ly.

The re­lease stat­ed that some im­prove­ment is ex­pect­ed overnight how­ev­er, show­ers and thun­der­storms are fore­cast to in­crease in fre­quen­cy and in­ten­si­ty from ear­ly morn­ing. It al­so warned those in hilly ar­eas to be cau­tious since there is a height­ened risk of land­slides and land­slips as there has been con­tin­u­ous rain­fall for the past few hours. Ad­di­tion­al im­pacts in­clude street/flash flood­ing and gusty winds in the vicin­i­ty of heavy down­pours.

The pub­lic is urged to mon­i­tor weath­er con­di­tions and as­sess sur­round­ings be­fore ven­tur­ing out. In ad­di­tion, the Met Ser­vice cau­tions against dri­ving or wad­ing through flood wa­ters.
