Three of the five men charged with the 2019 murder of Garvey Campo have been remanded into custody, after appearing before an Arima Magistrate, yesterday.
According to an official statement from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), SEANDEL DAVY, SYDNEY VIARUEL and WENRICK KING appeared before the Arima Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 28th July, 2020. They had been charged with various offences involving the death of Garvey Campo following advice received by Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Roger Gaspard SC, on Friday 24th July, 2020.
Garvey Campo was found shot to death on Monday 7th January, 2019.
The remaining two men—DARYL KRISTON BISSOON and PAUL GOSEIN, who are currently remanded at the Maximum Security Prison, Arouca—will appear before an Arima Magistrate, tomorrow, Thursday 30th July, 2020.
The TTPS statement notes that:
- Wenrick King, of Rose Drive, Evergreen, Carapo, was charged by officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region Two, with murder, using a firearm in the commission of a gang-related activity, and using ammunition in the commission of a gang-related activity.
- Seandel Davy, of Rose Drive, Evergreen, Carapo, was charged with murder and knowingly providing support to a gang leader in the furtherance of the commission of a gang-related activity.
- Sydney Viaruel, of Windy Hill, Arouca, was charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and knowingly providing support to a gang leader in the furtherance of the commission of a gang-related activity.
- Daryl Kriston Bissoon, was charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and being a gang leader during the period Thursday 3rd January, 2019 and Tuesday 8th January, 2019.
- Paul Gosein, was charged with conspiracy to commit murder, possession of a firearm to wit one Glock 9mm pistol which he reasonably knew would be used in the commission of a gang-related activity and possession of 23 rounds of 9mm ammunition which he reasonably knew would be used in the commission of a gang-related activity.
The investigation also comprised members from several specialized units of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), which included the Central Intelligence Bureau, the Special Investigations Unit (SIU), the Cyber Crime Unit and the Social Media Unit.
The probe was spearheaded by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Intelligence and Investigations, Mc Donald Jacob; and Assistant Commissioner of Police, Central Intelligence Bureau, Wendell Williams.
