Another pensioner, Bertram Greenaway, 68, of Herrera Trace, Morne Coco Road, Maraval, was found dead at his home with his throat slit.
Also, on that day, 70-year-old Zahir Khan of Bamboo Settlement #1, Valsayn, was kidnapped from his house.
In the latest incident on Monday, the yet-to-be-identified victim was sitting in his garage around 2:30 pm when two men armed with cutlasses accosted him. They beat him, causing an injury to his head. The suspects bound his hands and took him into the house to a bedroom. They then ransacked the house and stole a quantity of jewellery and $600 before running off. The elderly man managed to untie himself and sought assistance.
The suspects' faces were completely covered with only their eyes showing. Penal police are investigating.
