An argument over a dog spilling coffee beans left one man in hospital nursing chop wounds while another was arrested.
Police said around 3:45 pm on January 26, a 39-year-old resident of Brother’s Road was at his home when he had an argument with another occupant over the man’s dog spilling his coffee beans.
According to the police report, the resident approached the occupant downstairs in the house with a piece of wood and threatened him as he swung the wood at him. The occupant grabbed a cutlass and chopped the other man on his hand, and they began fighting. Relatives intervened and called the police.
The resident was taken to a health centre and later transferred to the Sangre Grande Hospital to undergo surgery. The cutlass-wielding man was arrested and enquiries are continuing.
