A 27-year-old Arima man has been arrested for three outstanding warrants.
The arrest came as officers of the Arima Police District and Criminal Investigations Department conducted exercises between 1:30pm and 4:30pm on Wednesday.
The officers focused their efforts on monitoring suspicious individuals and motor vehicles at strategic locations within the Arima Business Central District.
Special attention was given to known crime hotspots in Zone Four of the district and areas where known priority offenders frequently gather to engage in criminal activities.
During the exercise, intelligence was received regarding two first instant warrants that had been issued in connection with three counts of Larceny Trick offences.
The suspect was observed entering the Arima Police Station, at which point he was approached by the officers and informed of the outstanding warrants and reminded of his legal rights and privileges.
He was then arrested and is expected to appear before the Arima First Magistrate Court today.
