A 53-year-old Ari­ma man was shot dead in Ma­tu­ri­ta on Tues­day evening.

Mick­ey Al­leyne was killed dur­ing a dri­ve-by shoot­ing at Ma­tu­ri­ta Junc­tion.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, around 5.15 pm, an eye­wit­ness, who was in the car park of the Gold­en Rose Su­per­mar­ket along the East­ern Main Road, Ma­tu­ri­ta, saw two men get out of a sil­ver-coloured AD Wag­on, both armed with firearms.

One of the men was armed with a ri­fle and the oth­er a pis­tol and they both ap­proached Al­leyne and shot him sev­er­al times.

The men then re-en­tered the ve­hi­cle and es­caped.

Po­lice said Al­leyne had sev­er­al gun­shot wounds to the body and a large hole to the left side of the chest.
