Arima man shot in gas station, badly injured

An Ari­ma man is said to be in an un­sta­ble con­di­tion as he nursed gun­shot wounds at hos­pi­tal to­day, fol­low­ing a shoot­ing on Wednes­day night.

The 27-year-old man, of Tem­ple Street, Ari­ma, was at the NP Gas Sta­tion on Hol­lis Av­enue around 11:20 pm on March 29, when the shoot­ing in­ci­dent oc­curred.

Re­ports are that the vic­tim had fu­elled the sil­ver Nis­san Almera of a 36-year-old woman who lives at Pun­nette Av­enue, Ari­ma, when mo­ments af­ter, a sil­ver Nis­san Ti­i­da car pulled up and two men dressed in dark cloth­ing ex­it­ed the car and be­gan shoot­ing at him.

The woman ran off as the shoot­ing be­gan, and watched as the gun­men re-en­tered the wait­ing Ti­i­da, which sped off along King Street, Ari­ma.

She rushed to the aid of the vic­tim who was ly­ing on the back­seat of her car nurs­ing a sin­gle gun­shot wound and drove him to the Ari­ma Health Fa­cil­i­ty where he was treat­ed.

The vic­tim was lat­er trans­ferred to the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex, Mt Hope, where he was ward­ed in an un­sta­ble con­di­tion.

Five 9-mil­lime­tre spent shells were re­trieved at the scene.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing.
