Two Mor­vant men are ex­pect­ed to be ques­tioned and charged af­ter they were held short­ly af­ter break­ing in­to a Curepe bar ear­ly on Sat­ur­day morn­ing.

Po­lice said of­fi­cers of the North-Cen­tral Di­vi­sion re­ceived a re­port of a break-in at a bar on the cor­ner of Knowles and Rapsey Street around 4.18 am and went to the scene where they saw three men.

The ban­dits, on see­ing po­lice, ran in dif­fer­ent di­rec­tions, with two run­ning to­wards a near­by recre­ation ground and the third run­ning to­wards the Churchill-Roo­sevelt High­way.

Po­lice co­or­di­nat­ed a drag­net with help from the North-Cen­tral Di­vi­sion Task Force and the Traf­fic and High­way Pa­trol Unit, where they ar­rest­ed a 22-year-old Mor­vant man who they found hold­ing a bag filled with cash.

Short­ly af­ter, po­lice found a sec­ond man, aged 21, walk­ing on Ec­cles Street near the bar, who matched the de­scrip­tion of one of the ban­dits.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors vis­it­ed the bar and no­ticed a hole at the side of the busi­ness place, be­lieved to be the point of en­try for the ban­dits.

Of­fi­cers of the St Joseph CID are con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.
