The Dou­ble Palm Inn, Arou­ca, was robbed of close to $30,000 in cash dur­ing the ear­ly hours of Mon­day, by two gun­men.

The in­ci­dent oc­curred around 5.30, as vis­i­tors to the es­tab­lish­ment re­mained in their rooms.

Po­lice said the 35-year-old fe­male cashier was car­ry­ing out her du­ties, when a loud bang was heard and two men, dressed in hood­ies with their faces cov­ered, came run­ning in.

Both sus­pects who were armed, be­gan hit­ting her on the back of her head, de­mand­ing what­ev­er mon­ey had been col­lect­ed over the week­end.

The fright­ened woman lat­er hand­ed over $27,900 in cash, along with her per­son­al valu­ables in­clud­ing her cell phone and wal­let.

The sus­pects lat­er ran off.

Of­fi­cers from the Arou­ca CID to­geth­er with mem­bers of the Area East Task Force vis­it­ed the scene and ob­tained CCTV footage as part of the in­ves­ti­ga­tion.
