Po­lice are search­ing for ban­dits who broke in­to The Ark Preschool in Care­nage over the week­end and stole a flat-screen tele­vi­sion along with a con­tain­er of half-eat­en ice cream and a pack of mi­crowave pop­corn.

The 57-year-old vol­un­teer prin­ci­pal who lives in Glen­coe, ar­rived at the school around 6.35 am on June 30 and found some cloth­ing strewn across the floor.

Up­on check­ing, she found a TCL 32-inch black flat screen tele­vi­sion, which had been mount­ed on the north east­ern side of the class­room, miss­ing.

Fur­ther checks re­vealed a buck­et of Sun­dae Straw­ber­ry Cheese­cake ice­cream val­ued at $50 was miss­ing from the freez­er; while a pack of mi­crowave but­ter pop­corn val­ued at $6, had been tak­en from the counter.

She alert­ed the po­lice, who ar­rived and found that en­try had been gained via a wood­en door on the north­ern side of the preschool, which had been left un­latched.

Al­though of­fi­cers of the West­ern Di­vi­sion Crime Scene Unit processed the scene, no work­able prints were found.
