The Hindu temple in Carapo has been robbed again a few days before Father’s Day. Last month, the same temple was robbed during the Mother’s Day weekend.
At that time, the Carapo Hindu Temple lost at least $5,000 in valuables.
When the thieves broke into the temple, they even had a feast of corned beef and bread after cooking the corned beef in a pot used to prepare vegetarian meals in the temple. Hindus do not eat beef.
The most recent robbery occurred on Friday night.
Speaking off the record, a member of the executive of the temple, who asked not to be named, said this time the thieves took a microwave, ring stove and gas tank. The microwave was later retrieved near a mango tree at the temple.
He said the police advised them when they look at the footage and have more details about what happened, the Executive of the temple would be able to speak about the incident.
Vice President of the Mandir, Hansraj Ramdhanie, provided photos of the break-in, which show that glass doors in the temple were smashed.
