Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the rob­bery of a pop­u­lar San Fer­nan­do restau­rant and bar in which ban­dits made off with al­co­hol and cig­a­rettes.

A re­port stat­ed that the 48-year-old pro­pri­etor of Can­boulay Restau­rant and Lounge on Sut­ton Street re­port­ed that he se­cured the premis­es around 2 am on Sat­ur­day be­fore leav­ing. How­ev­er, when he re­turned around 11 am on Mon­day, he dis­cov­ered that a glass door on the south­ern side had been smashed.

As he checked around the busi­ness, he re­alised that a quan­ti­ty of al­co­hol and cig­a­rettes were miss­ing. The val­ue of the stolen items is yet to be de­ter­mined.

Cpl Mo­hammed and a par­ty of of­fi­cers vis­it­ed the scene, where they made ob­ser­va­tions, in­ter­viewed res­i­dents and checked the area for CCTV footage.

Crime scene in­ves­ti­ga­tors lat­er processed the lo­ca­tion. Po­lice are yet to record a for­mal state­ment from the vic­tim as in­ves­ti­ga­tions con­tin­ue. - Kevon Felmine
