Police are investigating the robbery of a popular San Fernando restaurant and bar in which bandits made off with alcohol and cigarettes.
A report stated that the 48-year-old proprietor of Canboulay Restaurant and Lounge on Sutton Street reported that he secured the premises around 2 am on Saturday before leaving. However, when he returned around 11 am on Monday, he discovered that a glass door on the southern side had been smashed.
As he checked around the business, he realised that a quantity of alcohol and cigarettes were missing. The value of the stolen items is yet to be determined.
Cpl Mohammed and a party of officers visited the scene, where they made observations, interviewed residents and checked the area for CCTV footage.
Crime scene investigators later processed the location. Police are yet to record a formal statement from the victim as investigations continue. - Kevon Felmine
