The Barataria Regional Complex is serving as a relief collection centre for persons wishing to donate relief items to people who have been severely affected by flooding in several parts of the country.
Chairman of the centre, Noble Kissoon, said they opened the venue from 8 am to facilitate persons interested in dropping off supplies for those affected. He said while people were slow in coming, items were still coming in steadily.
"This morning we had about 10 or 20 people and it had been actually increasing as the afternoon progresses," Kissoon said.
St Ann's East MP Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly was at the centre earlier in the day and had been encouraging people from the area to deliver goods there.
