The be­head­ed body of a man was dis­cov­ered near Dami­an’s Bay on the af­ter­noon of Feb­ru­ary 6, po­lice have con­firmed.

Ac­cord­ing to a se­nior po­lice source, the vic­tim, de­scribed as a man of African de­scent, was found with his hands bound be­hind his back and his head sev­ered. The head was placed next to the body on the sand.

The body was clad on­ly in a three quar­ter den­im three quar­ters pants.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors said the cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing the killing re­main un­clear, and ef­forts are un­der­way to iden­ti­fy the vic­tim and de­ter­mine a mo­tive.

Po­lice are con­tin­u­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions.
