Po­lice are try­ing to iden­ti­fy the body of a man found in bush­es off the Tarou­ba Link Road near Palmyra yes­ter­day.

A re­port stat­ed that a passer­by saw the body near the road­side and con­tact­ed the po­lice.

The South­ern Di­vi­sion Com­mand Cen­tre no­ti­fied Ste Madeleine po­lice, who went to the scene and found the corpse ly­ing in the grass next to a bed sheet.

A Dis­trict Med­ical Of­fi­cer ex­am­ined the body and did not see any vis­i­ble marks of vi­o­lence. Un­der­tak­ers took the body to the mor­tu­ary at the San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal.

Po­lice said the body ap­peared to be an In­do-Trinida­di­an man, about 5'5" tall, brown-skin com­plex­ion and in his ear­ly 50s. The man was in a pair of short pants and a vest.
