Police are trying to identify the body of a man found in bushes off the Tarouba Link Road near Palmyra yesterday.
A report stated that a passerby saw the body near the roadside and contacted the police.
The Southern Division Command Centre notified Ste Madeleine police, who went to the scene and found the corpse lying in the grass next to a bed sheet.
A District Medical Officer examined the body and did not see any visible marks of violence. Undertakers took the body to the mortuary at the San Fernando General Hospital.
Police said the body appeared to be an Indo-Trinidadian man, about 5'5" tall, brown-skin complexion and in his early 50s. The man was in a pair of short pants and a vest.
