Body found in Morvant still unidentified

The par­tial­ly burnt body that was dis­cov­ered in some bush­es in Mor­vant af­ter fire of­fi­cers re­spond­ed to a call about a bush fire on Thurs­day re­mained uniden­ti­fied up to yes­ter­day.

Fire of­fi­cers from the San Juan Fire Sta­tion were alert­ed around 4.08 am about a bush­fire at Cipri­ani Ex­ten­sion, Mor­vant, which was said to have start­ed be­hind a house.

Up­on putting out the fire, the fire of­fi­cers dis­cov­ered the corpse, which was found ly­ing face-up. Po­lice be­lieve the vic­tim was killed else­where and dumped in the area.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors have ap­pealed for the pub­lic’s help in iden­ti­fy­ing the body of the African male. Any­one with in­for­ma­tion as to the iden­ti­ty of the vic­tim can con­tact the near­est po­lice sta­tion.
