The charred remains of a 72-year-old man were discovered late Monday night in a bushy area off Daisy Connector Road, hours after his daughter reported him missing.

Knolly Trim, a resident of Loney Road in Indian Walk, had spent the morning as he often did—dropping his daughter off at work before heading to his garden. When calls to his phone went unanswered by late afternoon, his daughter, became concerned. At 9 p.m., she went to the garden, where she found his black Nissan Navara parked, unlocked and unattended. A further search led her to a scorched patch of land, where she made the grim discovery: her father’s partially burned body.

Authorities were called to the scene, where they found Trim lying on the ground, dressed in a white long-sleeved shirt, black pants, and rubber boots. His body bore burns to the legs, seemingly caused by a recent brush fire in the area.

Trim, who had a history of diabetes, asthma, and occasional blackouts, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was later transported to the San Fernando General Hospital mortuary, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.

Investigations are ongoing.
