The body of an unidentified man, riddled with gunshot wounds, was discovered on a roadway in Petit Morne, Phase Two, Ste Madeleine, early yesterday morning.
Officers of the Ste Madeleine Police Station were contacted around 6.40 am by a resident who reported that a friend had discovered a body near his home.
When officers arrived in the community, they found the bloodied body with gunshot wounds to the face, head, upper chest and upper back.
The victim was believed to be in his 20s. He was wearing a white T-shirt with a handprint and skull pattern on the front, a pair of black denim short jeans, red, green and black “GUCCI” slippers, and a gold-coloured chain around his neck.
Crime Scene Investigators attached to the Homicide Region III Office recovered eight spent shell casings and three projectiles at the scene. The officers also found $20 and a Marvin Gaye hat in the victim’s possession.
The victim was described as being of African descent, brown in complexion, slimly built, approximately five feet 11 inches tall, with an afro hairstyle and a short goatee beard.
Homicide Region III officers are continuing investigations.
