A 16-year-old La Horquetta boy is in stable condition after being shot in a drive-by shooting incident, on Wednesday afternoon.
Police said the boy was standing on the corner of Lystra Lewis Street, Phase Four, around 12:30 pm, when a Nissan Almera drove next to him.
Gunmen in the car shot the teen several times before driving off.
The boy ran home, and his father took him to the Arima hospital in his maxi taxi.
The boy was treated for several gunshots to his lower back and transferred to another hospital.
Officers of the Northern Division Emergency Response Patrol were called in and found the getaway car abandoned nearby.
Investigators found six spent 9-millimetre shells at the scene.
Investigations are ongoing.
