The Dwayne Bravo Foundation is teaming up with cricket icons Kieron Pollard and Nicholas Pooran to host its first charity golf tournament.
Trinbago Knight Riders players Colin Munro and Alex Hales will step away from the ongoing CPL tournament to take part in the event at the St. Andrews Golf Course, Moka, Maraval, today. Munro recently set the highest-ever career score for the Knight Riders against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots at Warner Park, while Hales has also been in strong form this season.
The tournament will also feature former national athletes Dwight Yorke, Russell Latapy and Brian Lara.
Bravo, who has hosted the annual 47 All White Charity Event in previous years, said the golf tournament was intended to bring a fresh approach to fundraising. “With this golf tournament, we wanted to do something different, uniting sport and charity in a way that celebrates teamwork, competition, and community impact,” he said.
“While the CPL schedule limited our ability to host the 47 All White Charity Event this year, I am excited to bring this new concept to life. We are grateful to our sponsors, the players, and our community for rallying behind this cause and helping us uplift those most in need.”
Since its inception in 2015, the Dwayne Bravo Foundation has invested in programmes and charitable causes across the country. Proceeds from today’s event will support its ongoing initiatives.
Bravo added: “The Charity Golf Tournament continues its proud legacy, promising thrilling competition, exciting prizes, and most importantly, the chance to create a brighter future for children and communities across Trinidad and Tobago.”
