Ac­tive du­ty sol­diers have been or­dered to re­port to du­ty and as­sem­ble at dif­fer­ent mil­i­tary in­stal­la­tions as part of a large-scale brief­ing on on­go­ing se­cu­ri­ty as­sess­ments, sources said.

Sev­er­al con­tacts close to the De­fence Force have con­firmed that an or­der was is­sued just af­ter 11 a.m. to all se­nior of­fi­cers as part of a "height­ened state of pre­pared­ness and on­go­ing re­gion­al se­cu­ri­ty pre­pared­ness."

Ac­cord­ing to one source, the or­der, known as a State One Pos­ture, was a pre­cau­tion­ary mea­sure to en­sure the De­fence Force was pre­pared for any de­vel­op­ments in the re­gion­al se­cu­ri­ty en­vi­ron­ment.

The source was un­able to dis­close fur­ther in­for­ma­tion as to whether this bul­letin was in re­la­tion to con­tin­ued U.S. mil­i­tary op­er­a­tions off the coast of Venezuela.
