Police officers discovered skeletal remains at a dumping area at Reform Village, Gasparilllo, yesterday, while searching for missing Princes Town mother, Kadijah Flament.
The grisly discovery was made around 11:30 am on Thursday June 17th, while Ag Insp Rampalard of the Air Support Unit was using air surveillance equipment to search agriculture lands.
Investigators told Guardian Media that while the bones appeared to be human, forensic experts will have to make that determination.
The bones were taken to a funeral home to be transported today, Friday, to the Forensic Science Centre, Port of Spain.
A police report stated that the skeletal remains, which appeared to be human, were found along a dirt road in an area where rubbish is dumped and burnt. A district medical officer viewed bones and ordered its removal.
On Thursday, relatives and two search groups were out searching for Kadijah Flament, who went missing on June 7th. They searched areas along the M1 Ring Road, Princes Town, Ste Madeleine, and the M2 Ring Road near Debe.
Police detained a woman over the weekend in connection with Kadijah Flament’s disappearance.
Investigations are continuing.
